OLAP
OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) is the technology that organises company data into multidimensional cubes so it can be analysed by any combination of dimensions (period, customer, sales rep, product, area) without waiting for someone to prepare a report.
How is an OLAP cube different from the ERP database?
The operational database is designed to record transactions one by one. The OLAP cube is designed to add up and compare millions of them in seconds. The user goes from the general to the particular, for example from the sales of the year to those of one customer in one month, without asking for a new report.
Where it appears in W3ERP
The W3ERP OLAP statistics, KPIs and dashboards module applies this technology to the data of the ERP itself: monthly and cumulative sales, sales by sales rep, potential customers, contract-to-sales ratio and sales location. Dashboards can be viewed on a monitor, laptop, tablet or phone, with the information of the central system.
