KPI
A KPI (Key Performance Indicator) is a numerical measure chosen to know whether a business objective is being met: cumulative sales against budget, margin per product, orders delivered on time or stock turnover. It is calculated with real data from the management system.
What makes a KPI useful?
A good KPI has an owner, a frequency and a target: who reviews it, how often and what value counts as good. KPIs are shown on dashboards. When the data comes from the ERP, nobody has to collect it by hand and there are no arguments about where the figure comes from.
Where it appears in W3ERP
In W3ERP, KPIs are part of the OLAP statistics, KPIs and dashboards module: indicators are calculated on the data the ERP records when selling, buying and manufacturing, and are viewed on the monitor, laptop, tablet or phone. Sales by sales rep or contract-to-sales ratio are examples of the available views.
