Batch

A batch (or lot) is the set of units of a product manufactured or received under the same conditions (same firing, same raw material delivery, same date) that share characteristics and are identified by a common code. It is the basic unit of traceability and quality control.

How does stock change with batch management?

With batch management, the stock of each item is a list of batches, each with its quantity, expiry date or attributes (in ceramics, shade and calibre). When an order is shipped, the system says which batch goes out, and when a complaint arrives, you know exactly what was delivered.

Where it appears in W3ERP

W3ERP manages batches and packaging in its sales, finance and production module. Every batch and every package is followed from receipt or manufacturing to delivery to the customer, and the production side calculates consumption, time per phase and the real cost of each batch.
